Born and raised in California, I have come to appreciate the finest of all lifestyles. Twenty years ago I discovered recreation sports and was relieved to leave the competition behind. Climbing rocks and riding mountain bikes became my favorite pastimes. At about this time I discovered the river! My life changed. I became a guide on the California Rivers and that is what pushed me further into the Sierra's. My travel bug had not been filled though, so I took my guiding outside the state and worked all over the west. Shortly I realized that the greatest river trip of all was a journey down the Grand Canyon. I have worked there ever since (1 trip per year now). A friend of mine at the time asked me, "So what do you do in the winter?" That door lead me to Truckee and my discovery of a place I wanted to call home. Like the locals say "the winter brought me here but the summers kept me here." That was 12 years ago and I couldn't be happier. I love this area because it has everything a mountain town can offer. Skiing, Snowboarding, Wakeboarding, Mountain biking, Climbing, Hiking, Great food, Shopping, and lots of smiling!
